Adopt A Cacao Tree and Plant it! Saturdays in March 10 Am

Adopt a Hawaiian cacao tree and participate in planting the tree yourself. You will get a tour of our cacao farm and learn about the cacao tree and how chocolate is made from the beans. We will build a protective cage for the new tree , discuss organic farming principles and plant it. After a photo session we will taste Hawaiian grown chocolates and see how this crop has a promising future in Hawaii. Price is per tree adoption, bring your kids for planting. You will be mailed one Adopt A Cacao Tree T shirt per adoption and go home with a chocolate treat. In addition we have many different fruit trees on the property. Our orchard is young so only a few things may be in bloom or have fruit. Closed toe shoes are required for walking on the farm. No flip flops. Please be aware farms are outdoor environments with various insects like spiders, ants, beetles, bees or centipedes that if disturbed could sting. We usually do not encounter bugs but they are present. The farm is located 15 miles from the airport and 15 minutes past Paia on the North Shore. You will be given specific directions after registration. Drinks are provided. We are off grid and have a porta-potty, a friendly golden retriever lives on site.
